Chateau de Villejovet
Chateau de Villejovet is located in Ardentes about 15 km southeast of Chateauroux south of the Loire Valley. It is surrounded by a beautiful green landscape with meadows, yellow rape fields and charming vineyards. From Ardentes there is about 100 km to Tours and Blois, the two best known and most exciting cities in the area.
The castle was originally built in the 17th century and was previously owned by the de Gaulle administration. Today it is Danish-owned. From 1998-2001 the castle was modernized and refurbished from top to bottom and is now an impressive and exclusive holiday property that is definitely worth a visit. All the suites and bathrooms have modern facilities of Scandinavian standard.
Surroundings
Chateau de Villejovet is situated in a 6 hectare grand park right down to the river Indre. The park surroundings consist of approx. 300 hectare natural landscape which is suitable for horse riding or walking. Furthermore guests have fishing permission along 3 km of the river, so you have plenty of opportunity to find your ideal spot for fishing. As a part of the renovation, an outdoor swimming pool with wave machine has been built (heated during the summer).
Decor
The decor of the massive 1,000 m² castle is tasteful and a combination of old and new, ancient and modern Scandinavian style, and ranging from old creaking stairs and manual food lift to a modern floodlit park and leather furniture. The living area also provides you with a choice. For example, do you want to eat dinner in the Provencal kitchen or in the fantastic, atmospheric wine cellar, where up to 40 people can dine? The choice is yours. Even the bedrooms are impressive. Each of them has its own en-suite bathroom and not two bedrooms are alike.
The rental prices shown on this page are for groups of up to 20 people. Larger groups (up to 30 people) are also welcome for an additional charge (minimum payment for five additional people). Please contact the booking department of NOVASOL or dansommer. The extra persons exceeding 20 will reside in a separate building:
Groups over 20 people can stay in the old smithy, which is located in the park. This property is totally renovated and tastefully decorated with a wonderful wine cellar, kitchen/living room with a large fireplace, four suites with four poster beds, one room with twin beds and three large bathrooms. The tower room with its huge bathroom and large round window providing a great view over the park, offers the ideal atmosphere for the bridal suite. Bookings of events should preferably be done in advance (alternatively on arrival to the matron). Payments should take place on location to the matron.

This castle's experienced matron offers the following services for EUR 35 per person (minimum EUR 350 which covers 10 people). Payment (obligatory) at arrival.

Deposit at arrival: EUR 1.075.
As mentioned the outdoor pool can be heated from April to October. Please order heating in advance, but expect increased consumption costs of oil.
The castle is ideal for conferences, family celebrations and holidays in royal style, but youth groups are not permitted.
Because of the castle's enormous size you must expect substantially higher energy costs (electricity/oil) than for a normal luxury holiday rental. Electricity is settled by EUR 0.31 per kWh and oil by EUR 1.50 per liter. Water is free of charge.
Parterre: Large Provence kitchen (30 m2) with dining space for 20 people, two wine cellars (45 and 36 m2) with plenty of atmosphere under the arches, TV room and children area with play corner and computer games.
Ground floor: Impressive entrance hall of 40 m2 with antique furniture and 7 meters ceiling height, dining room (30 m2) with a lift to the Provence-kitchen in the parterre, everyday kitchen in a contemporary style, large exotic living room of 45 m2 (game room), castle living room (40 m2) in the antique style with office space (fax and internet), 40 m2 large library with chesterfield furniture and billiard table.
1st floor: The King room (30 m2) with four-poster bed and en-suite shower and toilet. The Queen room (30 m2) with antique gold furniture and en-suite bathroom. The Crown Prince room (20 m2) with four-poster bed and its own large bathroom with a spa bath. The Prince bedroom and Princess room, each with a four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom.
2nd floor: The Count room (30 m2) with four-poster bed, antique sofa and private bathroom. The Countess room (30 m2) with four-poster bed, sofa and en-suite bathroom.
3rd floor: The Baroness studio room (25 m2) with 7 m ceiling height and a private bathroom. The Baron room with seating and a private bathroom. The Lady room with bathroom 8 meters down the hall. The two latter rooms are especially suitable for children.
Fax and free internet are available, satellite dish, microwave, two baby beds, two high chairs, tennis courts (asphalt), football field, outdoor tennis and squash court and dinghy. Golf nearby.
