For a winter holiday with the family, Puy Saint Vincent - situated in the heart of the Pays des Ecrins National Park - could be the best choice. Here you will find 75 km of ski slopes (6 green + 14 blue + 12 red + 2 black), 130 km of cross-country skiing and hiking trails, 20 km of foot paths, 12 ski lifts (6 chair lifts and 6 ski tows) at an altitude of 1350 meters and a snow park which is floodlit at night and contains a 250m pipe + 1 boarder cross. You can rent snowshoes, snowmobiles and a variety of other winter sports equipment. There also is a skating rink near by. There are a lot of activities and programs available for children of all ages as well as for families.
In winter the national park is a land of contrasts, with frozen waterfalls on the north-facing Fournel slopes and sunny south-facing slopes at Freissinieres plus the vast white Barre des Ecrins in the distance.
