Local areaThe Provencal village of AUBIGNAN is surrounded by hills with trees and cypresses. The villages of Bedoin and Malaucene are situated nearby as is the town of Carpentras with its many cultural attractions. During your stay you will be challenged to reach the top of the famous Mont Ventoux mountain (1,912 m), also known as 'Bald Mountain'! Grab your bike and enjoy the panoramic view. You can also reach the top by car. The Cote d'Azur is world famous for its fashionable resorts, luxury yachts and of course, beautiful weather. The Mediterranean climate here always seems to be sunny. You will also find beautiful boulevards lined with palm trees and cactus as well as miles-long sandy beaches. If you are looking for glamor and fashion boutiques, you can visit St. Tropez, Cannes, Nice or Monaco. While driving across the country you are sure to discover historic and charming villages. From one of the many hills you can enjoy beautiful views of vineyards and olive orchards. Provence is the hinterland of the Cote d'Azur and is still very popular with Dutch tourists. Avignon, with its bell towers and papal palace, is a city of art. Once the capital of Aix-en-Provence, it also has wonderful historic streets and lots of fountains. The Roman influence is still visible throughout Provence. For hikers and nature lovers a visit to the paradise of Provence and the Camargue, with its many flamingos, is certainly worthwhile!
