Between Burgundy and the Jura Mountains lies the authentic 'Ferme Bressan' (Bressan farm) of 'Le Clos du Rossignol', which means 'nest of the nightingale'. The apartment is part of a large but completely isolated [from road noise] complex located in the heart of Bresse-Bourguignonne. The apartment is situated near a river, next to a pasture with horses. Each morning you can gather fresh eggs at the farm. Shops are less than 10 minutes away by car, in Saint Germain du Bois. Near the farm there is a chalet for 4 persons, which you can also rent.

Local area

You can go fishing in the Seille River. 15 minutes away lies the famous Jura vineyards (Arbois) and medieval village of Chateau-Chalon with an observation tower, fruit orchards and an abbey. Other attractions include the caves and waterfalls of Cascades-du-Herisson and the castle of Saint-Pierre-en-Bresse which contains the most beautiful museum of Bresse Bourguignonne. The Gite is located 25 minutes from the resort of Lons-le-Saunier. This is a beautiful city with a wonderful subtropical swimming pool. The lakes of Jura - such as Lac de Clairvaux and Chalan-les-Lac - are less than one hour away by car. 15 km away there is the city of Louhans which has a market on Monday mornings containing more than 150 vendors. At this market you can still find genuine regional products such as the famous Bressen chickens (with blue feet).
