DescriptionGonneville-sur-Honfleur is a small village in the Calvados, situated 3 km from Honfleur. Famous for its canals, it is a paradise for lovers of beautiful colors. The little Norman village of Gonneville is proud of its Romanesque church and its most beautiful building, the Castle of Prêtreville, built during the 18th and 19th centuries. Nestled in a wooded park, which occupies both sides of the avenue leading to the Castle of Prêtreville, this residence, with its brick facades and slate gray roof, blends in well with the heritage of Normandy. The complex contains 86 apartments divided among eight buildings of R+1. Most apartments have a balcony or garden-level terrace. Except for the secure parking areas, which are located at the entrance to the park (on both sides of the main entrance), the entire estate is pedestrianized. The reception desk and entertainment room are located in the farmhouse (renovated old stables) and an another recently renovated building houses the gym and sauna.

Local areaThe landscape of the "flowered coast" has inspired great Impressionist painters like Claude Monet, Eugene Boudin and Raoul Dufy, thus it is not surprising Honfleur is known as the city of art. This city, with its well-preserved architectural heritage dating back to the Middle Ages (streets, churches, gardens and a unique "Old Pond"), is a vibrant city with many festivals (of Jazz, of Laughter, of the Russian Cinema, etc.) and guided tours whose themes revolve around the current holidays (Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas...). Nearby lie Deauville and Trouville, resorts with a wide range of sporting and cultural activities (casino, aquarium, horse racing), and Le Pays d-Auge, an area of Normandy containing Lisieux and Livarot, villages in a hedged farmland rich in beautiful homes and ideal for a countryside holiday or a day of hiking. Recreational and sightseeing opportunities in Honfleur include: parachuting, golf, Deauville St Gatien, the Maisons Satie (home to an original scenic and musical route paying tribute to the musician and composer Erik Satie who was born here in 1866), mini-golf, a naval museum, the Equatorial Naturospace Museum, little tourist train, skate-boarding track, and sea excursions. Beaches nearby include Butin beach, located at the entrance to Honfleur (from the coastal road). Butin beach has all the facilities to provide you with a comfortable and safe day out during the summer: free parking nearby, showers, cabins, equipment rental and a playground for children. The water quality here is excellent (for swimming, category A) and is analyzed regularly by the local health services. "Seahorse" chairs are free of charge for people with mobility impairment. Vasouy beach is located in the prolongation of the coastal road, toward Trouville, and seduces those looking for a more remote site...
