Local areaAround the house there is a nice spot with a sun terrace, plus a covered terrace, a (children's) pool and plenty of space to play or relax. 4 km away lies the cozy village of Morzine. Les Gets is 12 km away. The beautiful Lac de Montriond (10 km) offers wonderful views and has a separate swimming area for children. From here it is only 5 km to the goat village of Les Lindarets: an adventure for the little ones. Fashionable bathing places can be found in Thonon (24 km) and Evian (30 km). Those places are in and of themselves worth the effort! From Evian you can also take the boat to Lausanne. Medieval Yvoire as well as Geneva are full of attractions for culture seekers like Montreux, the chateau of Riplaille and Chatillion. In this area there are also numerous trails offering views of Mont Blanc, Dents du Midi, Dents Blanches and Lake Geneva. Mountain bike routes offer the same thing. Many lifts (including Morzine) will take you and your bike to the top if you'd rather cycle down than up. True “mountain goats” can cycle their hearts out on the Joux Plane, Joux Verte and Col de Ramaz routes. Golf courses can be found in Les Gets (12 km), Avoriaz (17 km) Evian (30 km) and there are plenty around Geneva (70 km). The more adventurous may go rafting or canyoning or visit the various adventure parks (info in the chalet) in the area. Or the famous Fantasticable in Chatel, where you are strapped to a cable and then “fly” between two mountain peaks. Less violent but equally worthy is the toboggan run in Morzine (4km) and the QUAD track across from de Champion (1.5 miles. The "Chalet Le Temps Passe" is ideal for any level of skier. Beginners can go to Le Grande Terche situated 2 km from the chalet, with free transport available from a nearby church (100 m). This is a small ski area, but for the first three years more than adequate. The prices of ski passes are limited (approximately 100 Euro.) Experienced skiers can choose Morzine (4km) or Les Gets (12 km) . There is a ski bus to Morzine, Les Gets and Les Ardents for a low price, with a pick-up point just 200 meters from the chalet. In Avoriaz there are two snow parks, one for beginners and one for advanced. Morzine and Les Gets also offer good opportunities for cross-country skiers and hikers.
