DescriptionJust a few minutes walking distance from a (swimming) lake lie these two luxurious apartments which are part of a stately, fully restored mansion on the outskirts of the village of Saint Saud Lacoussiere, in the northern part of the Dordogne. The lake has a sandy beach and on the other side of the lake there is a place where you can fish for trout. During the high season, July and August, there is a lifeguard present and there is a Brasserie open. The mansion is situated between meadows and forests and is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped garden with paths and lighting. There are beautiful lawns where you can sunbathe or play, a garden with classical music, a waterfall, a fountain, a swimming pool (7m x 14m) and a children pool (5m x 5m). You'll also find opportunities for jeux de boules, table tennis, large mikado game, badminton, darts, volleyball and fluctuate. There is a covered area (16m x 16m) with a bar, a TV room for children, various garden furniture and two large barbecues. In 2009, there will be a WIFI connection. The separate laundry room has a washing machine and dryer. There is also an iron and ironing board available. Pets are not allowed and you are expected not to smoke in the accommodation. The rent includes linen - there are no extra costs for final cleaning. In Saint Saud you will find all the necessary amenities such as a post office, pharmacy, bakery, butcher, small grocery store, 3 hotel restaurants, cafes, hairdressers, petrol station and garage and a shared tennis court which you can rent. Daily shopping can be done in the supermarkets in the area. These luxury apartments are ideal for families with children up to 12 years.

Local areaFrom the cottage you can go on fun trips by car or bike to places like Brantome, the caves of Villars, Chateau de Puyguilheim, the picturesque town of St Jean de Cole or a variety of weekly markets in lovely villages throughout the area. You will also find in this region well-marked hiking trails. Saint Saud is known for its fête the CEPES on the first Sunday of October. 60 km away lies the capital of the Dordogne, "Periqueux". You must see this city! The old city center has lively shopping streets, squares, beautiful authentic buildings with slate roofs, terraces, restaurants (in all price ranges) and exclusive fashion. For purchases of porcelain you should go to Limoges, about an hours drive from Saint Saud. Bordeaux is also definitely worth a visit. 15 km away you'll find the town where you can do your shopping. At the same distance you will find castles and vineyards.
