DescriptionAyen, capital township of nearly 700 residents, is dominated by the Puy Ayen, the highest point (377 m) of neighboring Yssandon. Ayen is situated between the Vezere and Auvezere rivers, the meeting point of the Perigord and Limousin regions. Backed by its limestone hill, Ayen will surprise you with its charm, diversity of natural surroundings and mild climate. This holiday village comprises 72 bungalows and has a reception area with a restaurant, bar, laundry facility and meeting rooms. Additional facilities include mini-golf, a tennis court, boules pitch, an outdoor pool with child pool (open from June to September), grounds (volleyball, petanque), terrain sports (basketball, badminton, mini-tennis), fitness trails and a giant playground for children. Typical local buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners are provided. The air-conditioned restaurant has a terrace from where you have a panoramic view of the surroundings and offers an a la carte menu, traditional meals, themed meals, grill nights, salads, snacks and bakery products (during school holidays).

Local areaWelcome to the land of prehistory with its numerous caves and sinkholes. During your holiday in Ayen, you will have the opportunity to explore the "cradle of mankind", as this region is known, at a number of Paleolithic sites. Sightseeing in Ayen includes: a church dating from the 12th century; Low Ayen; fountains and bath houses; the Museum of Traditional Crafts; and four hiking trails available for walkers and mountain bikers. Events and celebrations: a market every Thursday evening from 5pm; a market with festive musical entertainment, different every Thursday; opportunity to purchase fresh produce directly from producers and cook on site (giant barbecues); and treasure hunts for children in July and August.
